EESL’s Utkarsh Singh Highlights Passenger EV Strategy at EV & Battery Manufacturing National Summit 2025

New Delhi, August 2025: At the EV & Battery Manufacturing National Summit 2025, Mr. Utkarsh Singh, a key representative from Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), shared an insightful overview of EESL’s initiatives in the passenger electric vehicle (EV) segment.

Speaking at the summit, Singh emphasized the critical role of fleet electrification for government and PSU departments. EESL has been working closely with multiple stakeholders to deploy EVs for official use, making significant strides toward India’s net-zero vision.

Charging Infrastructure as a Priority

Singh elaborated that EESL, in collaboration with its joint venture Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), has been deploying public charging stations in metropolitan and smart cities. He added that without accessible and reliable charging infrastructure, EV adoption would remain limited. EESL’s current strategy focuses on ensuring that both government fleets and private users have access to fast and slow chargers across key corridors and urban areas.

EV Procurement Model

He outlined EESL’s innovative procurement model which includes aggregation of demand from government departments to enable bulk purchase at competitive rates. This model has not only reduced EV costs but has also built confidence among vendors and government buyers alike.

India's Net-Zero Goals

Utkarsh Singh also reiterated EESL’s commitment to India's 2030 net-zero emission target. He noted that passenger EV deployment directly contributes to this goal by reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering vehicular emissions.

Singh concluded by inviting industry players, startups, and policy-makers to collaborate with EESL and CESL to scale EV adoption in India. His remarks were well received by attendees, who acknowledged EESL’s leadership role in driving public-sector-led EV transformation.
